DIMAPUR, APRIL 7 (MExN): Acting on specific intelligence regarding the presence of a cadre of a Naga political group in the general area of Project Colony, Zunheboto, Assam Rifles launched a special joint operation on April 6 and apprehended one cadre of NSCN-K (Niki) who was carrying out extortion in the general area Project Colony, Zunheboto district, Nagaland. The individual was in possession of one country made .32mm pistol. The apprehended cadre along with recovered arms has been handed over to the Police Station, Zunheboto, a press release issued by the AR stated. Meanwhile, in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh, the Assam Rifles apprehended one cadre belonging to NSCN –K (YA) with a .32 pistol and ammunition during a special operation on April 6. The apprehended cadre and recovered weapon along with ammunition have been handed over to the police, the press release stated.
