DIMAPUR, JANUARY 4 (MExN): Troops of the 24 Assam Rifles’ arrested two persons with arms while carrying out a ‘Mobile Vehicle Check Post’ (MVCP) in two separate incidents.
On Wednesday, January 4, one ‘NSCN-K’ cadre identified as Viheto Yepthomi (29 years) - a self-styled ‘Sergeant’ was arrested from Purana Bazaar. The arresting team recovered one .22 pistol with 11 rounds ammunition and 5 more rounds of .32 ammunition from his possession.
In a similar incident on January 3 last, a self-styled ‘Major’ in the FGN, identified as Shikato Sema (19 years) was nabbed with a pistol and ammunition from Burma Camp. One ‘country-made’ .22 pistol with three rounds was recovered from his possession.
This was stated in a press release from the Additional Superintendent of Police, Dimapur.
