Phek, September 13 (MExN): The Phek Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) organised a felicitation ceremony on September 10, for five students who got enrolled at Sainik School Punglwa from Phek district.
According to a defence release, under their flagship programme, five students from economically weaker sections were provided all assistance by the Phek Battalion in preparation for entrance exam for admission in Sainik School, Punglwa.
All the students were assisted in smooth processing of loan through State Bank of India, Phek and also assisted one student in obtaining financial support of Rs 50,000 from the district administration, the release stated.
The efforts of Assam Rifles were widely appreciated by the general population.
