AR busts weapons manufacturing unit

Dimapur, April 22 (MExN): The Assam Rifles claim it busted a weapons manufacturing unit in Indisen village in Dimapur.  

According to a press release, troops of 36 Assam Rifles along with police representatives launched a search operation on April 21 and recovered one AK-47 with magazine, one M-16 rifle with magazine, two magazines of .22 mm Pistol, 17 live rounds of assorted ammunition, four barrels and few tools from the house of Albert Lotha (40 years).  

According to the AR release, the individual revealed that he was a Leacy of NSCN (IM) faction and was involved in “illegal manufacturing”, “supply of weapons,” and “extortion activities in Dimapur”.  

The individual along with the recovered arms and ammunition was handed over to West Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation.
