AR celebrates foundation day of Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home

The Assam Rifles celebrated the Foundation Day of the Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home on September 27.

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 29 (MExN): The Assam Rifles, in its continued effort to support and uplift local communities, celebrated the Foundation Day of the Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home on September 27. 

The event was graced by Maj Gen Manish Kumar, SM, who expressed his admiration for the tireless work being done by the Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home for the underprivileged children of the region, a press release highlighted. 

Speaking at the event, he emphasized the Assam Rifles' longstanding commitment to societal welfare, particularly in reaching out to marginalized communities.

On the occasion, Assam Rifles distributed a wide range of books, clothing, monetary aid and essential items such as food supplies and daily utility items to the children, encouraging education and ensuring they are equipped with basic necessities for their well-being and growth. 

Kumar highlighted the importance of community support and collective efforts in providing these children with a nurturing environment.

 The Assam Rifles remains dedicated to its mission of not just ensuring the security of the region but also actively participating in humanitarian and community-building activities, the press release stated while adding that the day's events reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to ensuring a better future for the children of Kohima.
