AR civic action programmes across the state

Community hall constructed

44 Assam Rifles constructed a community hall under OP Sadbhavana at Saringyim village of Mokokchung district. The same was handed over to the GB and locals of the village on June 7 in the presence of civil administration representative. In a press release, Assam Rifles expressed that the hall will help in uplifting social life of the local population and development in the area.  

Solar lamps provided in Pungro sub-division

The border villages of Kiphire district in Pungro sub-division which are deprived of basic infrastructure like electricity, sustainable supply and medical facilities were provided solar lamps by 46 Assam Rifles on June 3. The Assam Rifles provided two solar lamps to each household in Tsurevong, Bedant and Khaha villages, according to a press release.  

Medical camp at Old Pangsha

15 Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Old Pangsha village in Tuensang District on June 10. A total of 216 patients were treated and distributed free medicines, informed an AR press note.  

Medical camp at Chenwetnyu

9 BIHAR under the aegis of Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Chenwetnyu village of Mon district on June 11. A total of 400 patients, 340 adults and 60 children of the area, were given free medicines, according to a press release from Assam Rifles. Meanwhile, 9 BIHAR extended its medical camp to Indo-Myanmar border junction near BP 151 on June 10, where in a total of 130 patients were distributed free medicines.  

Interaction with villagers

9 Assam Rifles held an interaction with the village council chairmen, Head GBs and other stakeholders of Thetsumi, Enhulumi, Chizami and Swemi villages of Chizami sub-division in Phek district at Chizami village on June 12. The interaction focused on review of security situation, issues of forceful taxation, and ways to enhance co-operation between security forces and villagers, according to a press release from Assam Rifles.  

Borewell at Molvom Village

37 Assam Rifles and 112 Engineer Regiment, on June 8, dedicated an open well in Molvom Village giving an alternate source of water the villagers. Apart from the well, a water pump and over head water tank have been provided as part of its civic project. This will facilitate drawing and storage of water from the Well, a press release from AR informed.  

37 AR distributes at Medziphema

37 Assam Rifles distributed Ceiling Fans to Govt Middle School, Medziphema on June 7. The initiative will mitigate the genuine problem of students in the School, and enable a conducive environment for education, an AR press note said.
