AR conducts free medical camp at various villages

Dimapur, January 13 (MExN): Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted free medical camps at various villages in the past four weeks.

Kulhopu and Yehimi villages

Zunheboto Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted a medical camp at village Kulhopu and Yehimi, Zunheboto on January 9 and 10 respectively. The camp was organized with an aim to provide medical assistance to the residents of Kulhopu and Yehimi village as well as the adjoining villages. A total of 147 patients to include 51 Male, 68 Female and 28 Children were examined and treated at Kulhopu, while at Yehimi the number of patients were 174 to include 55 Male, 73 Female and 46. Apart from providing free medical checkup and medicines, basic awareness and guidance on personal hygiene was covered. This was stated in a press release.

Thetsumi and Nokhu villages

Chieswema Battalion and Shamatore Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted a free medical camp at Thetsumi Village under Chizami Sub Division, Phek and Nokhu village, Tuensang on January 8 and 9 respectively.


The aim of the camp was to provide free medical treatment to the local residents of remote areas devoid of requisite medical facilities, stated a press release. A specially constituted medical team examined 201 patients to include 76 male, 88 female and 37 children at Thesumi. While at Nokhu village 268 patients, to include 68 males, 135 females and 65 Children attended. Free medicines were provided to the ailing. Basic awareness on health education including precaution from common viral diseases was also imparted.

Chiephobozou village

Chieswema Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted a free medical camp on December 18 at Chiephobozou Village of Kohima district. A specially constituted medical team comprising two doctors and four medical staff under Chief Medical Officer conducted the medical camp. 207 patients to include 82 male, 97 female and 28 children were checked and treated during the camp. Emphasis on importance of hygiene and sanitation was explained to the participants for ensuring a healthier living standard.
