AR establishes vocational training centre in Jalukie

Jalukie, January 14 (MExN): 18 Assam Rifles has established a Vocational Training Centre in Jalukie under Op Sadbhavna. A press release from the Assam Rifles informed that the centre was set up based on requests from youth.  The centre, fully equipped with computers, computer tables and other accessories was inaugurated on December 28, 2013 by the commandant.  The up gradation of the VTC has been appreciated by the local populace as it lends a new tool to the youth to enhance their career profiles and enable them to seek employment in industries within and outside the state, the note added.

Solar lights distributed
at Nkio ‘B’ village

18 Assam Rifles, as part of Op Sadbhavana projects also installed eight solar lights at Nkio B village in Peren district. The lights were installed on December 31, 2013. Assam Rifles stated that installing the lights will address the problem of streets lighting and safety of villagers.

Medical camp at Tening
18 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 6 Sector organized a medical camp at Tening Town on December 27, 2013. The ARMO and his medical team conducted the medical camp as part of normal scheduled activities that the battalion carries out for the people of remote villages periodically. 312 people from Tening village and adjoining villages attended the medical camp and received medical treatment, free medicines.

17 AR organises  free

17 Assam also organized a free medical camp at Mukalimi village under the aegis of HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles on January 10, 2014. People from Mukalimi village and other adjoining villages attended the camp. They were diagnosed with varieties of ailments, including respiratory tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, skin infection etc. They were provided free medicines and some were advised further investigations. Around 103 patients were treated during the camp.

21 AR donates computers   
The 21st Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 7 Sector Assam Rifles, Inspector General Assam Rifles (North)  and HQ 3 Corps presented two computers with accessories to Government  Primary School, Atoizu Village, Zunheboto under OP SAMARITAN Military Civic Action Project on January 9, 2014. Addressing the students and teachers of Government Primary School, 21 Assam Rifles emphasised the importance of computer in students’ lives to help achieve successful career prospects, a press release stated.

Veterinary aid camps in Phek district
A free veterinary aid camp was organized by 46 AR at Meluri village, Phek district and Nitoi village, Kiphire district on December 28 and 30 respectively under the aegis of HQ 3 Corps (Op Sadbhavna). 268 pets were brought and medicines were distributed for 5641 animals.
