Kohima, May 17 (MExN): Ex-servicemen rally for veterans from the districts of Kohima, Phek, Wokha and Zunheboto will be organised on May 22 at Assam Rifles Garrison in Kohima. The event will be organised by Assam Rifles under the aegis HQ IGAR (North). The rally will commence from 8:30 am and registration of all ESMs will be carried out on arrival.
AR in a press release stated that the aim of the rally is to reach out to ESMs, Veer Naris, widows and their wards for their comprehensive welfare, with special focus on disabled soldiers being the “Year of Disabled Soldiers”.
The rally will focus on the issues of ESMs to include updation of records, Pension anomalies redressal, Entitlements of disabled soldiers, Medical and dental checkup, Redressal of ECHS and Canteen Card, Redressal of Banking, Aadhar and PAN Card, Avenues for recruitment in the Army, Skill development/employment generation through State Govt agencies and Redressal of issues with regard to civil administration.
Residential and dining arrangements for the ESMs have also been catered by Assam Rifles for those desirous. Various stalls to address specific grievances/issues of ESMs will be established. Interactive sessions will also be held to create awareness amongst the ESMs, Veer Naris and their wards regarding various benefits and entitlements. Felicitation of was wounded soldiers and Veer Naris will also be carried out on the occasion.
All Ex-servicemen along with their dependents are requested to attend to enable the Assam Rifles honour its veterans in Nagaland.
