
Kohima, March 4 (MExN): Maj Gen Sanjay Gupta, Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) flagged off the National Integration tour for 20 students and two teachers from various schools to Delhi-Jaipur-Agra and back from Kohima on March 4.
HQ IGAR (North), PRO, Lt Col Amitabh Sharma informed in a press release that the National Integration tour is being organized by Kohima Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North). Tour comprises of students from various districts and institutions which include 13 boys, seven girls and two teachers. The tour is scheduled from March 4 to 15 wherein the students will visit India Gate, Chandni Chowk, Qutub Minar and Red fort in Delhi. Albert Hall, Nahargarh Fort, Nehru bazaar, Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort in Jaipur and Jahangir Palace, Taj Mahal, Red Fort and Sadar bazar in Agra.
Flag off ceremony was enthusiastically attended by the touring children, their friends, family members and various ranks of Assam Rifles. Students will benefit by this exposure of witnessing historical sites and interacting with civil dignitaries and senior Commanders of the armed forces during their visit to Delhi, Jaipur and Agra, the release added.
