Phaipijang, March 31 (MExN): In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare accessibility and promoting community welfare, Assam Rifles handed over an ambulance to the Pensioner’s Union Dimapur, at Phaipijang village under Operation Sadbhavana on March 28.
The initiative reflects the continued commitment of Assam Rifles towards addressing the essential needs of local communities, particularly in remote areas.
The provision of the ambulance comes in response to a long-standing requirement of the local population, especially pensioners, the elderly, and patients requiring urgent medical attention. The absence of reliable medical transport had posed serious challenges, often delaying timely access to healthcare facilities. This initiative is expected to significantly improve emergency response and medical outreach in and around Phaipijang village.
The handover ceremony was conducted at Phaipijang Village in the presence of members of the Pensioner’s Union, village authorities, and local residents. The DIG, 6 Sector Assam Rifles formally handed over the ambulance to the Secretary Pensioner’s Union.
Speaking on the occasion, the DIG stated, “Assam Rifles remains committed to the welfare of the people of the Northeast. This ambulance is a small step towards ensuring timely medical assistance for those in need.” He also lauded the invaluable service and sacrifices made by the pensioners, adding, “Our veterans have dedicated their lives to the nation, and it is our responsibility to support their wellbeing.”
Representatives of the Pensioner’s Union expressed their gratitude, stating that the ambulance would greatly benefit the community by ensuring timely medical aid and saving lives during emergencies.
