Morung Express News Dimapur | February 2 An Assam Rifles soldier was fatally wounded in an incident reported to be accidental discharge of service weapon. The incident occurred on February 2 in Dimapur. As per the Assam Rifles, the unnamed soldier was on guard duty in one of the AR camps when his service rifle accidentally went off fatally wounding him. The AR said that he was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to the wound sometime in the afternoon. The identity of the deceased soldier and the unit he belonged to was not disclosed. The AR added that a detailed inquiry will be initiated.
