Peren, August 10 (MExN): A musical event with a resounding message against drug abuse was organized by the 25 Battalion of Assam Rifles in Jalukie town in Peren district. The event was held at St Xavier's College, Jalukie, stated a press release issued by HQ IGAR (N).

The event commenced with the opening remarks of the Maj Gen Vikas Lakhera, Sena Medal, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) as the chief guet. The gathering included the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of Peren, as well as officials from the Administrative and Civil Services of Jalukie and Peren district. Various Civil Society Organizations also graced the occasion.

The competition was organised in two phases in which a total of 25 candidates participated. Rachel secured the first position, while Charakung and Wisuiliu were declared first and second runners-up respectively. 

The event witnessed a huge turnout of 400 locals. Guest artists from Peren district and Band of Jalukie Battalion also performed during the event.
