Phek, August 2 (MExN): 22 Assam Rifles, Phek organized a drawing and poster making competition for government schools on the theme ‘Indian Independence’ on August 1 to commemorate the approaching Independence Day. About 60 students from Govt. Higher Secondary School Phek and Govt. Middle School Zion Phek took part in the contest, informed a press release. The competition consisted of three different categories of awards. In the Category A (from Primary to Class 7) Anuzo Shijoh, Kusalu Rhakho, and Thunoshelu were declared first, second and third winners respectively, in Category B (from Class 8 to Class 10) Rasulu Rhakho, Kuvesulu and Thito were winners, while Category C (Higher Secondary level) winners were Vebulu Vero, Vekutalu Chizo and Lhutuzo.
Medical checkup at Reguri village
22 Assam Rifles also conducted a free medical checkup at Reguri village in Phek on July 30. A release from Lt Col Amitabh Sharma, PRO, HQ IGAR (North), informed that a specially constituted medical team examined 290 patients - 105 males, 110 females and 75 children. Free medicines were also provided to the ailing patients. Basic knowledge on epidemic diseases including precautions was also imparted.
