AR organizes free medical camp

Dimapur, January 28 (MExN): 17 Assam Rifles organized a free medical camp at Mukalimi village on January 10, 2014. According to a press release from AR, around 103 patients from in and around Mukalimi village attended the camp. They were provided free medicines. All the elders, village council members and Village Headman of the villages in and around Mukalimi village appreciated the efforts put in by Assam Rifles and they urged for such assistance in future too, the note added.
Solar street lights distributed at New Thewati  

Troops of 46 Assam Rifles provided eight solar street lights to people of New Thewati. A press release said it was a moment of joy for the inhabitants of the under developed village in Phek district, very close to Myanmar border. The 46 AR troops provided the lights as part of ‘Op Sadbhavana’ with an aim to help locals, and foster better relationship with them. The Chairman of New Thewati Village Council appreciated the initiative of Assam Rifles. They also mentioned that selfless service extended by Assam Rifles will pave a way for greater association with the villagers, according to the release.
 
Free veterinary aid camp at Tseminyu

In an effort to reach out to the needy, 17 Assam Rifles organized a veterinary camp in Tseminyu, Kohima district on January 17, 2014. The camp was organised under ‘Op Sadbhavana’ with an aim to provide free veterinary care and vaccines to the pets. The camp drew an overwhelming response from the locals who turned out in large numbers to get specialized treatment for their livestock, said a press note. The villagers were informed about health related aspects for livestock in view of the winter season. A total of 2033 animals were treated.
