
Kohima, May 5 (MExN): Maj Gen Sanjay Gupta, Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) today flagged off the motor cycle rally organised by HQ IGAR (N) on the theme ‘HIV/AIDS & Drug Free Nagaland'.
Gupta said the aim of the rally is to generate awareness amongst the local populace about the menace of drugs and HIV & AIDS and to motivate the youth to make Nagaland drugs and HIV & AIDS free State.
The rally will be conducted in three legs to cover Kohima, Phek, Kiphire, Zunheboto, Wokha, Dimapur, Peren, Tuensang and Mokokchung districts of Nagaland. It is part of proactive campaign against drugs and HIV & AIDS in the State.
Assam Rifles has always been at the forefront making significant and meaningful contribution towards making Nagaland a peaceful State, where people can lead a happy and healthy life, Gupta maintained.
The event is open to all people. Various activities based on the theme have been planned in all the places, including lectures, skit, friendly sports matches with local teams, musical events and medical camp, the IGAR added.
The motor cycle riders of Assam Rifles and Nagaland Motor Cycle Association took part in the rally.
