
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 18 (MExN): The Assam Rifles today refuted allegations that its personnel had detained one person on the basis of planted evidence. A press note from the PRO, Assam Rifles, Nagaland stated that troops of the AR had, “based on specific intelligence, along with police representative conducted an operation in Tuensang on December 12.” It stated that while carrying out search of the house of one Y Kiumesean Yimchunger, the troops “recovered weapon and ammunition which were illegally kept by the individual.” “The allegation of AR personnel placing the said weapon inside the house is fabricated, factually incorrect and laughable,” the AR further said.
