Kohima, January 30 (MExN): As part of the ongoing crackdown by Assam Rifles to prevent illegal activities, troops of Assam Rifles seized illegal Liquor in Ghaspani town on January 23.
Based on specific information about consignment of contraband, troops launched an operation near Ghaspani town and intercepted a TATA pickup (Registration No AS 25DC 7723), wherein the IMFL was being unloaded into a godown.
As per a press release from Lt Col Sumit K Sharma, PRO (Defence), a total of 153 cases of various type of IMFL amounting to Rs 10,52,240 (ten lakh fifty two thousand two hundred forty) were seized. The two accused alongwith the recovered IMFL have been handed over to Medziphema Police Station for further investigation.
