A match in action at the ongoing Assam Rifles’ Sentinel Football Cup.
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 2 (MExN): On day three of the league stage of inaugural Assam Rifles Sentinel’s Football Cup, four more matches, two each in the morning and afternoon were played at Shokhuvi and 3rd Mile, Dimapur respectively.
In the first session of the day, 165 Battalion Territorial Army team overcame Optimus Football Club from Nagaland with a score of 7-0. Arunachal’s Patkai Warriors beat Meghalaya’s Warbath Football club by 7-3.
In the second session, Mizoram Football club scored a major upset over Imphal East Football club (Manipur) by beating them by 3-1. In the last match of the day in a highly spirited and contested match Assam Rifles team beat 164 Battalion Territorial Army team 2-1.
The league matches will continue on December 3 with four more matches scheduled.
