Dimapur, February 3 (MExN): Dimapur Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) recovered 1250 cases of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from a truck at Kashiram Basti on January 31, according to a press release from Assam Rifles. The truck bearing registration number AS 12E 6917 was intercepted by the Assam Rifles troops at a mobile check post set up based on specific input at Kashiram Basti area. In this connection, three individuals identified as Anu Debbarma (27), Samir Debbarma (21), and Ohika were apprehended. The three along with the recovered IMFL worth around Rs. 30 lakh were handed over to West Police Station Dimapur for further investigation, the release added.
In a separate incident, Mon Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) recovered one .32 mm pistol (Regd No 0205) along with three live rounds from the house of Wangto Konyak, who is a suspected cadre of FGN (Non Accordist), in Mon village on February 1, informed another press release. The battalion had conducted the operation based on specific information along with police representatives, it said. The recoveries were handed over to Mon Police Station, it was informed.
