Chetheba, April 28 (MExN): A six-day long Archery Coaching Camp organised by the Chokri Area Games & Sports Association (CAGSA) at Chetheba Town concluded on April 28. According to the association, the coaching camp was organised with support from Youth Resources & Sports Department and with firm commitment from the CAGSA units to promote archery in the area.
The CAGSA said that the basic training programme, under the guidance of state archery coach Hunezo and assisted by Vekhruzo, received overwhelming response with participants from 7 villages and 2 towns from the Chokri area taking part.
Coach Hunezo emphasised on the importance of hard work and discipline to make it in sports.
“Today, we are living in a professional world and there is no meaning conducting sports meet just for fun,” CAGSA president Vetazo Tetseo stated in a press release. The training, he said, was conducted with the belief that it would set the foundation for enabling the locals to compete with others.
“Sports is a profession too and it should be taken seriously considering its scope and one’s capability,” stated CAGSA Secretary Zuveta Lupo.
It informed that the forthcoming CAGSA meet to be held at K. Basa Village in the first week of January, 2019 will have archery as one of the main events.
