Are Naga leaders listening and responding to the needs of the people?

Some of those who voted  YES had this to say:

•    Yes, the Naga leaders of today are listening and responding to the needs of the people as there is a sign of progress in removing many narrow differences. Till a generation ago, corruption in public life was the order of their day, but today, the naga leaders are eradicating these problems as a result of their far sightedness. There is, however, a lot more to be achieved.
•    Half-heartedly yes........for Publicity stunt in the papers...
•    Of course dey listn..bt lets it go off frm da othr ear!!
•    Yes I guess, but in the process they end up listening more to their wants and get overwhelmed with it thus in reality, fails to address the real needs of the people.

Some of those who voted NO  had this to say:

•    Not every leader seems to care. They are either illiterate or dumb because every poll question ends up getting the same response. We write, you publish, the leaders read, they laugh every Monday morning. Naga people have big platforms to voice out but we don’t react when the so called leaders do not respond. Let us remind them that they were elected by us to serve us better. If they don’t serve this purpose, we have every right to remove them. This isn’t a revolution but a revelation. Time to react. Enough of deaf, blind, dumb, selfish, proud and ignorant leaders.
•    This is a intriguing question..Have we ever seen these naga leaders (So as they call themselves). They might just listen but will never respond to the needs of his own people too.
•    They don't have courage & lack leadership quality.
•    No, no, no, Naga leaders, whether he might be a leaders in NGO, MLA, Underground or holding in any Naga public organization, no one is listening and responding to the need of our people. Present leaders are opportunist people not real leaders. Real leaders will sacrifice himself for his people. We should be careful, because our Leaders may lead us into pit.
•    No, Naga leaders especially the legislators led by the CM and other top government bureaucrats are not responding to the needs of the people. In spite of the public outcry, road conditions and power supply have not improved. Office attendance in govt offices and schools remain thin and lacks punctuality. Even municipal council heads in major towns like Kohima and Dimapur are yet to prove their sincerity and efficiency in spite of blowing their trumpet from time to time. Deplorable roads filled with pillars of dust during the dry season and pools of water during the rainy season and frequent power failure are all powerful testimonies of our leaders’ poor and shameless performance.
•    All that they know is steal public money. Its their birth right as i hear ppl talk.
•    The present leaders are experts only in bribery, anybody who is sensible will be punish beyond endurance and those who are a bit weak will be heavily bribe.
•    No, they never listen nor respond to the needs of the people. Our leaders are just a foolish people. Why they are foolish? Because foolish people use to say many things, but never fulfill what they say and promise. Another very funny thing is our MLAs and self style kilonsers play football. How they played? MLAs are Indian soldiers and underground are freedom fighters, MLAs keep their body guards in order to protect them from underground (freedom fighters) because MLAs are against the Naga demands and are supporting the Indian policy. What a funny thing?
•    Most of our ‘leaders’ are overweight, despicably corrupted, owns SUVs and crores through public money, filled with gas of delusional pride and empty promises, maintain 2-3 wives and /or more mistresses. Do they have time for citizens who they have promised (b a man) to serve and lead? To think that they themselves forced and insisted to lead!!!
•    Haha they are busy inventing latest methods to suck away our money.
•    No, because the definition of democracy here in Nagaland is, “the govt BUY the people OFF the people and FAR the people.” And therefore they keep themselves away from the needs of the people in times of grievances and development by closing their gates, enforced by their guards!
•    If these leaders at least do something they had promise to deliver during their election campaigns, then the public will be less critical. But at this rate of stealing n pilfering public coffers...i doubt we the common ppl will have to see thru bad roads, load shedded power, buying drinking water, etc etc. for another 5 years.
• If the question is talking about the underground leaders, they should not be referred to as Naga leaders because they do not lead. There is no question of responding to the needs of the people and not to talk about listening to the people.
• How come Nagaland is going to celebrate her 50th anniv. and yet we lack the most basics needed for survival of humankind. Where is the POWER Minister? Roads & Bridges Minister? PHE minister, PWD Minister? The capital of Nagaland is at present reeling under the mammoth task of getting water to drink only. The electricity supply is as good as DISCO lamps, that they come n goes in a blink of the eye. Every Minister is liable to be charged by the ppl, if they do not perform or keep his election promises at bay.
• Are they blind to the roads? Deaf to the cries n appeals, dumb about the advancements needed 2 b initiated. Despite the hues n cries of ppl, these leaders are minting off grant money right under our NOSE.
•    Have u ever seen a dog gnawing a bone to throw away what he is biting? Likewise our leaders have 5 years to steal, cheat, siphon off public coffers, make false promises but giving tithes regularly for which the church is elated as these money mongers donate huge amount of money. They r now gnawing on their bones and therefore do not expect to get ur share too. They r not going to give. Nah! he is piling up his coffers 4 the next elections.
• Kindly start from the Chief minister's office about listening n reacting to the cries n calls of the common ppl. These leaders have climbed up to such heights that they cannot stoop low to even listen. By being the ministers n bureaucrats, these leaders thinks all that is coming from NEW DELHI is their fathers money.
• Naga leaders are busy accumulating wealth for their own selfish end. Nothing good for the people are seen.
• Many of our people have not got out of the 18 n 19th centuries mentality, my village, evidently only the elected members village get make over in all sphere, PATHETIC we Nagas are.
• Nagas are going the way the nomads of Africa and the Illegal immigrants 4m Bangladesh. There r no leaders and no followers ...everyone is the master and none are "jack of all trades" too.
• No naga leaders do not respond to the needs of people. They don't even fulfill to do basic things.
• They are extremely busy engaged in hot debate, meetings etc discussing how to exploit, deceive and strip away the least what the common people has and would lastly pronounce RIP for the commoner.

Some of those who voted OTHERS had this to say:

• The state politicians and bureaucrats have not genuine interest in the people. They think the can buy off the public with money and therefore hold the opinion that the public are cheap and easily gullible. This is the problem.
•    Give 100%.. I mean 100 which is really 100%.Govt must fully deliver all those points that are printed on its manifesto and so chances would be less for da govt to ensure and listen to da public voice out.
•    As a matter of fact, public leaders should realise that that are for us as a mouthpiece. They are 100%sure without a shadow of doubt whats the existing status-quo and its requirements.
•    Dimapur MLA's are sleeping? Look at the roads conditions. I would request the MLA's to go a joy ride on a Rickshaw or Auto. Before election you MLA's can convinced even the devil's. But after election you falls into Devil's Mammon's Trap forever.
•    Our Naga National Workers have lost faith in the Naga cause and they have lost faith in themselves and so they are no more leading the people. Instead they have turned their anger inwards towards the Naga public.
