ARJU AUTUMN FEST: The Paradigm Shift wins ‘Battle of Bands’

The Paradigm Shift from Dimapur winners of the ‘Battle of Bands’ at the Night Music Carnival of Arju Autumn Fest Tuli 2019 on October 11. 

 

Bringing a close to the two-day Arju Autumn Fest Tuli 2019, a total of seven bands competed for the ultimate prize of the ‘Battle of Bands’ at the Night Music Carnival on October 11. 


The Paradigm Shift from Dimapur won the battle and walked away with the cash prize along with a record deal with Media 24 Studio.


Theja Meru, Advisor, Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA), Government of Nagaland graced the last night. Meru in his speech emphasized on the importance of promoting music and art in Nagaland. 


The highlights of the Fest were an amalgamation of sports and music and traditional sports. Volley ball competition was the main sport. Traditional sports included Bamboo pole climbing, traditional go-karting, log cutting, winnowing, bamboo mat weaving, catapult shooting and spinning top, spear throwing, pig chasing, and firewood carrying and fire making.

Recreational boating, Zip lining, ATV rides were popular among the visitors. Indoors like VR (Virtual Reality), carom and Dart throwing and various recreational games were open at different stalls.


The aroma from the live kitchen and variety of foods in the stall also added taste to the fest from the fresh bakes to the grills, cold to hot beverages, traditional cuisine to fast food.


Arju Autumn Fest Tuli 2019 is a concept and creation of Subonenba Longkumer, Director of Community Educational Centre Society (CECS). The purpose of the festival is to give a platform for the local talents, and to encourage them to perform and take pride in participation and push them to the next level. 


The festival attracted around 2000 visitors during the two-day event.
