Dimapur, January 4: Chief of the Army Staff visited Zakhama on January 4, 2014. General Bikram Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC, Chief of Army Staff accompanied by wife Bubbles Singh, was received by Lieutenant General SL Narasimhan, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding Spear Corps. Lieutenant General Manmohan Singh Rai, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Eastern Command accompanied the Army Chief. A press release received here stated that the Army Chief reviewed the operational preparedness, security situation and progress made in the development of infrastructure in the Spear Corps.
Chief of Army Staff, who is also the Colonel of the SIKH LI Regiment, addressed the troops of 16 SIKH LI Battalion and interacted with the troops. 16 SIKH LI contingent had participated in a ten days long joint training exercise termed “Hand in Hand 2013” in Kunming province in Southern China in November 2013.
