Kohima, January 18 (MExN): Lieutenant General MMS Rai, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Eastern Command, is on a three-day visit to the Spear Corps Zone from January 16 to 18.
On arrival, the Army Commander was received by Lieutenant General SL Narasimhan, General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps.
This is the first formal visit of the Army Commander to Spear Corps Zone after taking over Eastern Command. During the course of his visit, he will visit various Units and Formations for familiarization and interaction with troops and commanders at all levels of Spear Corps.
A release issued by Lt.Col. Emron Musavi, Defence PRO, Kohima, said the Army Commander called on the Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio in Kohima on January 16. They discussed issues related to the state, it added.
The Army Commander also reviewed the operational preparedness, security situation and progress made in the development of infrastructure at Headquarter Spear Corps. He was briefed by General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps on prevailing security situation in the North East.
