
Dimapur, July 6 (MExN): The Indian Army Recruitment Office (ARO), Rangapahar, conducted an extensive outreach programme for National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets at the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC)-59 at Patkai Christian College in Chümoukedima, Nagaland, on June 5.
Organised in coordination with the 1 Nagaland Air Squadron NCC, Dimapur, the initiative was aimed at raising awareness about recruitment opportunities in the Indian Army, including Officer-level entries and the Agniveer scheme. A total of 346 NCC cadets attended the programme.
Officials from ARO Rangapahar delivered detailed sessions on the Agnipath recruitment scheme, including step-by-step login procedures, creation of user IDs for registration, and details of the 2025–26 recruitment notification. The cadets were also briefed on the advantages of the Agniveer scheme, career opportunities after four years of service, and other frequently asked questions.

In addition to Agniveer recruitment, the programme covered the modalities of officer entry schemes such as the National Defence Academy (NDA), Indian Military Academy (IMA), Officers Training Academy (OTA), Military Nursing Service (MNS), and Territorial Army (TA), along with guidance on Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews.
The cadets were given information on eligibility criteria, application processes, and selection procedures for each scheme. They were also acquainted with the organisational structure of the Indian Army, its arms and services. Handouts, pamphlets, posters, and other publicity material were distributed during the session.
Director Recruiting also held an interaction with Wing Commander M Herojit Singh, Commanding Officer of 1 Nagaland Air Squadron NCC, and apprised him of the various entry schemes into the Indian Army, including recent changes in the 2025–26 recruitment notification.
