Dimapur, November 15 (MExN): The first phase of a major 15-day recruitment campaign for the Territorial Army (TA), covering all ten Northeastern states, was inaugurated at the Bhagat Stadium in Rangapahar, Dimapur on November 15.
The event was flagged off by Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Dimapur, Wiridin, marking a significant opportunity for youth from the region to join the nation's Citizen-Soldier force, stated a DIPR report.
The recruitment process commenced at 0430 hours, with 344 candidates from 17 districts of Nagaland and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands participating.
The candidates underwent a comprehensive selection procedure, which included a 1600m run, a Physical Fitness Test (PFT), a Physical Measurement Test (PMT), and medical screening. Officials stated that all tests were conducted with transparency and strict adherence to standards.
To assist candidates who had travelled long distances, the 113 TA provided free meals and drinking water to those who cleared the PFT. Adequate facilities, including toilets, water points, and sanitation support, were also arranged at the venue to ensure hygiene and comfort.
The smooth and orderly conduct of the opening day was facilitated by the 113 TA, the Dimapur District Administration, and the State Police.
