Army Recruitment at Senapati

KOHIMA, APRIL 25 (MExN): An Army Recruitment Rally will be held at Football Ground, Kendriya Vidhyalaya, Leimakhong, Senapati District, Manipur, from May 15 to 25 for enrolment of male candidates into the Indian Army.

A press release from Lt. Col. Emron Musavi, PRO, Press Information Bureau (Defence Wing), informed that the recruitment is primarily for the youth of Nagaland and Manipur into the Indian Army. Vacancies are available for candidates from Manipur and Nagaland, for soldier General Duty, Technical, clerk / Store Keeper Technical / inventory manager and tradesmen categories.  For the rest of the five NE States, rally is open only for soldier clerk / store keeper technical / inventory manager and soldier technical categories, PIB informed.

The press note informed that the rally will commence on May 15 for soldier general duty and tradesman categories for candidates of Imphal East, Imphal West, and Bishnupur Districts; May 16 for Senapati, Tamenglong, and Ukhrul Districts; May 17 for Chandel, Churachandpur, and Thoubal Districts; May 18 for Kohima, Wokha, Zunheboto, Dimapur, Peren, and Phek Districts; and May 19 for Kiphire, Mokokchung, Mon, Tuensang, and Longleng Districts. On May 19, candidates only from Nagaland and Manipur in the categories of sons of servicemen / ex-servicemen / war widows, sportsmen, and NCC cadets, can appear for all categories and retired servicemen can appear for re-enrolment into DSC.  On May 20, candidates from all NE States can appear for soldier clerk / store keeper technical / inventory manager and soldier technical categories.

Written exam for all categories except soldier clerk / store keeper technical / inventory manager will be conducted at Leimakhong on May 25. Negative marking has been introduced for all categories. Candidates will get 2 marks for every correct answer and half marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

For Soldier General Duty, the age limit is 17 ½ to 21 years with education qualification 8th Class pass for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes from the state of Nagaland and Manipur, and Class 10th pass for all other candidates including Gorkhas. For soldier clerk / store keeper technical / inventory manager and tradesmen categories age limit is 17 ½ to 23 years. For technical categories, the requirement is Class 12th pass with specific requirements of subjects and marks for each category. The educations qualification for soldier tradesmen / house keeper is Class 8th pass and for washer man is Class 10th pass. Specific details can be checked from the nearest ARO.

PIB stating that recruitment in the Indian Army is transparent, fair, and automated, cautioned candidates against falling prey to touts. PIB advised candidates to report about touts / agents who approach them by giving false hopes of enrolment to the nearest police station or to Director Recruiting, ARO Rangapahar, at 03862-248845.
