Dimapur, April 1 (MExN): Headquarter 6 Sector of the Assam Rifles celebrated its 8th Raising day on April 1 at its Headquarters at Kashiram, Dimapur.
The AR’s 6 Sector was raised in 2011 in 3rd Mile, Dimapur but was shifted to its current location in Kashiram in 2013, according to a defence press release.
“During the seven years of its existence, the sector has acquitted itself admirably in the counter insurgency role. It has also responded with admirable commitment whenever called upon to assist the civil administration,” the defence release added.
The celebration included an all-faith religious ceremony to mark the occasion which was followed by a 'Sainik Sammelan' where the Commander addressed all ranks of the AR. “He commended their steadfast commitment, professionalism and hard work and exhorted them to continue to strive for success in all fields,” the release stated.
