ARTC & S observe Hindi Pakhwara

Dimapur, September 24 (MExN): In continuance of the ‘Hindi Day’ observed on September 14, ARTC & S observed Hindi Pakhwara (Fortnight) from September 8 to 22.  

Speaking on the occasion, Brigadier Gurjap Singh, Commandant of ARTC & S stressed on the use of Hindi in official correspondence in accordance with the policy issued by the Government of India. He also highlighted the importance of the official language and appealed all the employees to work in Hindi and contribute in better spread of the official language across the country.  

Praveen Pallath, Lt Col SO-1 (Edn) in a press release stated that in order to promote Hindi among the Jawans, five types of Hindi competitions namely Hindi Typing, Noting-Drafting, Essay Writing, Poem Recitation and Speech competition were organised at Sukhovi and Dimapur Garrison. With the objective to commemorate the occasion and also to receive effective response, an ‘Overall Champion Trophy’ for best team was also placed as prize besides individual cash incentives for participants securing 1st, 2nd and 3rd position in above competitions.  

Prize distribution ceremony of the Hindi Pakhwara was held on September 23 under the chairmanship of Brigadier Gurjap Singh, Commandant of ARTC & School.  All the participating teams tried at their level best to give their best performance but the team of No. 2 Training Battalion secured the highest marks and was adjudged the best team. The teams of No. 3 Training Battalion secured second position and No. 1 Training Battalion secured third position.
