'Artist boys are crazy'

From their co-ordinating outfits to their matching smiles, Fifth Harmony always look perfectly composed. But behind the scenes the girlband have suffered their share of heartbreak, something they open up about as they cover Seventeen. ‘We want to share real stuff that's been happening in our lives,’ band member Dinah Jane Hansen told the magazine. ‘Over the past year, we've experienced love and heartbreak, and it's taken a toll on us. You can't always show that you are confident because that's not the truth.’   Ally Brooke, Camila Cabello, Normani Hamilton, Dinah Jane Hansen and Lauren Jauregui, each auditioned for the show as individuals before becoming a group. When asked where they see themselves in 10 years, Lauren said she didn’t think they would still be a girl band. ‘I don't see us still doing this, but by then I hoped we'll have toured the world and won a couple of Grammys for songs we are really passionate about,’ she said.   The magazine asked Camila to set the record straight about whether she and Shawn Mendes are just friends or something more. Rumours had swirled after the pair released the duet I Know What You Did Last Summer in November. ‘Shawn and I are great friends,’ she told the magazine. ‘That's why we write so well together we have fun!’ 'We literally just wrote a song backstage, and it ended up becoming something awesome. It wasn't a career move that I carefully planned out.'   Camilla seemed skeptical about finding the perfect relationship. 'If you meet somebody who you really like and they're in the entertainment industry, you wouldn't be like, "Oh, well, this might not turn out well,"' she said. 'The thing is, artist boys are crazy.' The March 2016 Seventeen issue will hit newsstands on February 9.
