Artists from Mokokchung town came together for a ‘meet and greet’ event organised by Creative Hearts at Tzulenden 2nd Cross, Kapayong Sector, Mokokchung village on March 25.
In one of its kind of an event for the art community in Mokokchung, various artists came together and spent a day painting, sketching, drawing and sharing their ideas. The event was organised to strengthen the Mokokchung art community and also to provide a platform where artists can create, critique, share ideas and promote each other, informed the organizers.
About 13 artists participated at the event where they painted and sketched basing on certain themes and the finished art was displayed and later exchanged among the artist present.
Creative Hearts, the organisers of the event, are a team of young people who loves art and believes that art can bring people together and can be a uniting factor. “We are overwhelmed by the response from the art community here in Mokokchung and we are excited to organize more such events,” said Asen, one of the organisers.
“People in Nagaland, especially in Mokokchung, are not given the platform to expand and grow as artists. More emphasis should be given to promote art and to encourage art as a profession,” she added.
“By organizing such events, we hope that the art community will grow bigger and stronger and hopefully in the future, we can create avenues for the artist,” she further commented.
