The Angami Sports Association (ASA) has conducted its 51st Meet 2023 at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama. This 51st Meet 2023, featured belt wrestling for the first time in the history of 54 years of ASA.
Top wrestlers from four ranges- Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA), Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA) Western Angami Youth Organization (WAYO) and Chakroma Youth Organization (CYO) joined the meet.
Belt wrestling was conducted in various categories including free style.
Earlier, the inaugural function was graced by Pelesielie Khezhie, president Nagaland Contractors & Supplies Union as the special guest while Nagaland Football Coaches Association (NFCA) president Roko Angami graced the valedictory function.
The inaugural function was chaired by ASA general secretary Seyielhouvi Nagi while assistant wrestling secretary Kedowhesie Meyase administered oath to the wrestlers. ASA president Lhoubeizo Kesiyie delivered welcome address.
ASA athletics secretary Neilekho Zhiitso chaired the valedictory function while assistant games secretary Neizovotuo Keretsii proposed vote of thanks.
The meet was managed by Southern Angami Youth Union Christian Revival Church.
