Asia Pacific Youth Hoho comes out with ‘Charter of Responsibility’

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 15 (MExN): The Asia Pacific Youth Hoho (APYH) held at Shalom Bible Seminary, Sechü-Zubza, Nagaland from December 7-13, 2012 under the theme ‘A Generation with Responsibility”, has come out with what was termed as the Sechü-Zubza Charter of Responsibility.

Describing selfishness and corruption through deceit or extortion in any form as violations of human rights, the APYH in its concluding statement pointed out that “our planet has enough for the needs of everyone but not for the greed of everyone”.  “Her health and her resources sustain us. It requires us to care, to change and be responsible”, the statement from the APYH stated.

Asia Pacific Youth Hoho (APYH) December 7 – 13, 2012, Nagaland

Discovering that guided by God, such selflessness can become normal living, APYH participants have accepted the following charter to be the basis of their lives.  Some have already taken the first steps of change.
1    Blame game: I will admit when I am wrong and say sorry.
2    Work ethics:  I will care as much for my work as I care for my salary.
3    Ends & Means: I will use clean and ethical methods for solving my problems and achieving my goals.
4    Tribalism/Communalism: I will combat it by reaching out to other tribes/communities with transparency.
5    Environment: I will care for the cleanliness of my immediate surroundings and play my part to preserve the eco-system which sustains all life.
6     Reconciliation: Forgiveness makes politics and growth possible. I will acknowledge where I have hurt others instead of being obsessed with where others have hurt me.
7    Clean election: I will not bribe or be bribed in any way.

As I am, so is my nation.
If not now, when?
If not me, who?
