Asin marries Rahul Sharma in a Church Ceremony

Actor Asin Thottumkal and Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma tied the knot in a private church ceremony in Delhi on Tuesday morning. The couple will have a Hindu ceremony in the evening at the same venue, Dusit Devrana. It was a private event with only 50 people, only family and close friends, attending. The wedding was followed by a vegetarian lunch at the hotel’s Chinese restaurant.   Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who is in the Capital to promote his upcoming film Airlift, is expected to attend the events. Akshay was also the person who introduced Asin to Rahul. In an Instagram picture she posted earlier, Asin had mentioned that Akshay was to be the best man at her wedding.

  While Delhi functions are for close family and friends only, the couple will host a reception in Mumbai on January 23, which will be attended by Bollywood stars. While the white-themed Christian wedding happened at the makeshift church created in the hotel premises itself, a mandap is being erected on a water body for the Hindu ceremony at night.   A source further says: “Both the ceremonies are private. While around 50 guests were invited for the Christian wedding, the Hindu ceremony will be attended by 200 guests. In all likelihood, there will also be a private house party next day at Rahul’s farmhouse at Sonali Farms, West End Greens.”
