As part of the ‘Aspirational District’ programme ‘Sampoornata Abhiyan’ was launched at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire town on July 4. The occasion was graced by C Kipili MLA & Chairman, District Planning Development Board (DPDB) Kiphire as special guest in the presence of NITI Aayog representatives, DPDB members and NGOs.
Addressing the gathering, Kipili Sangtam said that the vision of Sampoornata Abhiyan is to foster an environment where every individual has the opportunity to realise their full potential. “Today’s occasion marks a significant milestone in our journey towards realising the objectives behind the very ideas that aspirational district seek to achieve,” Kipili said.
He urged upon the implementing agencies, officers and departments to sincerely carry out whatever task and guidelines set by GoI to achieve the target.
During the review meeting, Kipili impressed upon the agencies and Officers implementing the ‘Aspirational District’ programmes to utilise funds sincerely for the development of Kiphire district. Calling for transparency and accountability and periodic review of projects under ‘Aspirational district’ schemes and other public development project, he said, “Often what is written on paper does not match the ground reality.”
Emphasising the vital role of district HoDs in augmenting development deficit in district, he called upon officers to use their position and responsibilities to develop Kiphire. Urging upon officers to be regularly in station as it is their duty and responsibility to provide service to the people, Kipili cautioned that he will not hesitate to take action if officers are found not to be in station.
Delivering welcome address, Temsuwati Pongen, DC, Kiphire said ‘Sampoornata Abhiyan’ will run for three months starting from July 4, and will culminate on September 30 when it reaches the saturation point. The DC Kiphire said the programme aims to achieve saturation points on 7 key parameters primarily focusing on timely antenatal care for pregnant women and regular supplementary nutrition, complete immunization for all children, distribution of soil health card, regular screening for diabetes and hypertension, revolving funds for self-help groups, and availability of basic facilities in schools.
He called upon all stakeholders to join hand to make the campaign a grand success.
During the programme awards were also presented to certain individuals and center for best performing activities under Health Centre, ASHA worker, and Anganwadi worker.
Short speeches were delivered by representatives from NITI Aayog, while programme was moderated by Takatemjen Longkumer EAC Hq Kiphire and vote of thanks was pronounced by T Sulangthung, SDO(C) & Nodal Officer ADP.
