Sümi Patriots Day observed in Satakha town

Satakha, August 4 (MExN): The Sümi Hoho observed Sümi Patriots Day honouring late General Kaito Sukhai at Kughato Sukhai and the General Kaito Sukhai Memorial Statues in Satakha town on August 4. Leaders from various Sümi frontal organizations and the general public attended the event, a press release from the Sümi Hoho stated. 

Speaking about the Sümis’ involvement in the Naga freedom struggle, the guest speaker, Dr Hokishe Yepthomi, former president of Sümi Hoho highlighted the historical significance of their contribution. He expressed optimism that the aspirations of the Naga people will eventually be realised.

The programme was chaired by Zhevihe Sumi, Vice President, Sümi Hoho. Speeches were delivered by Nikheto Jimomi, President, Sümi Hoho; Kashito Yepthomi, President, Sümi Kükami Hoho; Viholi Zhimomi, General Secretary; Sümi Totimi Hoho; and Ngukato Aye, President, Sümi Kiphimi Küqhakulu. Tsavipelimi and Elli Zhimomi presented special songs.

The invocation and benediction prayers were offered by Rev Honito Chophi, Pastor, Union Baptist Church Satakha, and Anato Chishi, Pastor, Satakha Town Baptist Church, respectively. Rev Hukugha Zhimomi, Senior Pastor, Satakha Town Baptist Church prayed for the “martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of Naga’s freedom struggle.”
