
Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): Here’s spectacular news for those young men of Nagaland who want to make it big in the glamour industry of modelling. Dimapur based ‘Star.ex Grooming School and Modelling Agency’ is organising ‘Mr Nagaland 2009’ which is reportedly for the first time in the state.
Organisers said that to hunt for aspirants with suitable criteria to make it to the national level in the field of modelling, the ‘Star.ex’ agency is organising the event to give the right platform to deserving aspirants who has the right potential to take on the glamour world. The event is themed “Fight AIDS-Embrace Life”.
The event coordinator, Vili G Chophy briefing the media on Saturday said that the grand finale of the event has been set for November 14 at the DDSC stadium. The winner will be groomed to participate in the Graviera Mr India and Gladrags Man Hunt contests. The event coordinator was accompanied by co-organisers, Asu George- team member and board member of the event, Emma during the media briefing. The agency is associated with “Le Modelle”, which has launched a number of successful faces in the glamour industry at the national level it is learned.
The preliminary round dubbed the ‘Curtain Raiser’ will be held on October 10 at the “Ana Ki” conference hall, Khermahal. As is the tradition in such glamour events, the contestants will also be vying for a number of ‘subtitles’ in various categories during the preliminary and final rounds. The contestants will undergo a one week grooming and training programme at the agency in the lead up to the final event, organisers informed.
Aspiring young men (both locals and non locals), in the age group of 18-25 are invited to audition, the event coordinator Vili informed. The candidates must have height no less than 5.8”.
Auditions will be conducted in four districts of the state- Mokokchung (September 8), Wokha (September 10), Kohima (September 12) and at Dimapur on September 15 and 16 at the ‘Star.ex’ Agency located at Circular Road, opposite Do Bosco School.
Within a short span of time since its establishment, ‘Star.ex’ has promoted its students in high profile shows such as the “India-International Garment Expo 2009” held in Delhi it is learned. Organisers said to promote local indigenous artists and performers; the event will showcase the vibrant culture and traditions of Nagaland.
During the course of the event, the contestants will also play a charity football match in aid of the “Blind School Association”, Dimapur. The public of Nagaland will be given the chance to decide the winner of the prestigious title through a system of vote organisers also informed.
