‘Assam CM derailing settlement,’ alleges Therie

Dimapur, August 8 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) President, K Therie on Monday said that the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma should “stop escorting the Chief Minister of Nagaland to BJP houses to derail settlement of the Agreements.”

Therie, in a press release said that Convener NEDA is expected to oversee the welfare of regional peace and harmony in matters of law and order and to promote growth of economy in the region. His role for Nagaland should have been to fulfil the commitment of BJP which is “Election for Solution,” said Therie.

According to Therie, all non-BJP CMs of Assam have been cordial to Nagaland. Even BP Chaliha played the role of Peace Mission for lasting solution. ‘We are sorry to note the escorting role of Himanta Biswa Sarma in derailing the much hoped for settlement to the political problem of Nagas,’ he stated.
