Kohima, June 23 (MExN): Assam Rifles battalions under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organized activities in their respective jurisdictions in the last few days.
Chieswema battalion conducted an interaction programme at Chizami on June 23. Matters concerning health, education, employment and ways to foster peace and harmony in the region were discussed in the programme, informed a press release from PRO, HQ IGAR (N).
Assam Rifles assured those in attendance of all effort towards working hand in hand to bring about a congenial environment for the betterment of the village, it added. 14 village heads, including from Upper Khomi, Middle Khomi, Thetsumi, Enhulumi, Sumi, Chizami Town and Chizami under Pfutsero subdivision of Phek district attended the event.
Kohima battalion of Assam Rifles organized an interaction meet with ex-servicemen in order to help address problems, if any, faced by them. Ex-servicemen from various parts of Kohima attended the meet and conveyed their concerns, another press release from the PRO said.
Meanwhile, Mon battalion of Assam Rifles distributed food items to Tizit Orphanage Home on June 22. Stressing on the responsibility of every individual towards betterment of the society, Company Commander of Tizit Base commended the noble service of all those involved in contributing towards the cause of destitute children and the society at large, stated a press release from PRO, HQ IGAR (N).
