Tree plantation drives and free medical camp was carried out by the Assam Rifles in different parts of the state.

Dimapur, July 12 (MExN): Tree plantation drives and free medical camp have been conducted by the Assam Rifles (AR) in various parts of the state, according to a report from the AR.
Kiphire: The Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) carried out tree plantation drive on July 12, in a bid to promote clean environment for future. 795 saplings were planted in Kiphire, Pungro, Akhegwo, Longmatre, Mimi and Thongsonyu.
Phek: A tree plantation drive was carried out by the Phek Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North), on July 12 under the theme ‘Celebrate Biodiversity’.
A total of 880 saplings of various varieties were planted.
To ensure survivability of the trees, ownership of the plants has been entrusted to the individuals who planted them.
Shamator: 1850 trees were planted during the plantation drive conducted by the Shamator Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) at Shamator, Noklak, Dan / Pangsha, Wensoi, Langnyok and Choklangan and in all its posts on June 12.
During the drive, a pledge was also taken to preserve maintain and uphold bio-diversity.
Tuensang: The Tuensang Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted a medical camp at Shamnyu (Wangshu) village on July 11.
Besides medical consultation and distribution of free medicines, the importance of timely vaccination, personal hygiene and sanitation was also imparted. 183 adults and 93 children benefitted from the camp, according to the AR report.
