Dimapur, September 19 (MExN): Various battalions of the Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted civic activities in different parts of Nagaland.

Dimapur: The Ghaspani Battalion organised a lecture on importance of education under the theme ‘Today's Youth Tomorrow's Future’ at Nihekhu, Zubza and Kukidolong Village Dimapur on September 18. The lecture was focused on emphasizing the importance of education to the students. A total of 54 students attended the lecture.

Kiphire: The Kiphire Battalion organised a medical camp cum COVID awareness programme for the residents of Sangtsunger village, Kiphire on September 19.

The main intent behind conducting the medical camp was to reach out to the people of the remote areas and establish faith and build cordial relations with locals, the AR stated in a press release on Sunday. A total of 29 villagers benefitted from the medical camp.

Kohima: The Kohima Battalion in collaboration with Kripa Foundation, Kohima organised a sensitization seminar on awareness on substance abuse at Chakabama, Kohima on September 19.

As a part of the seminar, an interactive lecture on harmful effects of drugs and alcohol was conducted by resource person from Kripa Foundation, Kohima to generate awareness about the ill effects of drugs and alcohol and guide the villagers towards leading a healthy life.

The awareness campaign witnessed participation of over 22 villagers including participants from 6 villages near Chakabama.
