Assam Rifles conduct volleyball match, lecture

Wokha/Dimapur, June 17 (MExN): Wokha battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted a friendly volleyball match with local youths of Tseminyu region on June 16. The match was organized under the ‘HIV/AIDS and Drugs Free Nagaland’ campaign, aimed at creating all round awareness on the same, informed a press release from HQ IGAR (N). 20 local youth participated in the match.   Dimapur battalion of Assam Rifles also organized a HIV/AIDS awareness lecture for the villagers of Old Showba on June 17. The aim of the lecture was to create awareness on how the virus spreads and its preventive measures, another press release from HQ IGAR (N) informed. The attendees were also educated on how people living with HIV/AIDS should be treated with compassion so as to allow them to lead normal lives, it added. The lecture was attended by 22 villagers.
