Under the Civic Action Programme, Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles installed 28 Solar Street Lights in three villages of East Khasi Hills district on December 29. Laitlum Village, Umiew Maw-U-Sam and Umtngew Village in the vicinity of Smit village received the facility. The project was inaugurated by Colonel J P Sattigiri, Commandant, DGAR FIU on behalf of the Director General Assam Rifles at these villages.
