DIMAPUR, July 31 (MExN): A joint team of 9 and 32 Assam Rifles along with representative of Nagaland Police apprehended one NSCN (K) Civil Wing cadre identified as Leacy Asopa Yimchungar (43) in Dimapur on July 26 morning, according to PRO, Assam Rifles.
In a press release, the PRO said that information about the presence of NSCN (K) cadre was carefully corroborated and verified through sustained surveillance. Thereafter, a specially constituted team of Assam Rifles and Nagaland Police tracked the cadre and nabbed him near Supply Depot, Dimapur at 4:45 am on July 26 along with one 7.65 mm pistol, three rounds, one magazine and one register with details of tax collection from vehicles, the release said.
During the initial questioning, according to the PRO, the cadre revealed that he is an active member of NSCN (K) Civil Wing since March 2014 and has been working independently in Dimapur to collect tax on orders from Town Commander.
