Assam Rifles unearths weapons cache

Dimapur, August 1 (MExN): The troops of Assam Rifles (AR) and Army have “recovered huge cache of weapons” after a joint search operation in general area Paglapahar forests near Chümuokedima, Dimapur on July 27, a press release issued by L Vincent Patton, PRO, HQ IGAR (N) informed.
Altogether 15 weapons were recovered during the operation launched based on specific information, it said.
The recovered items included one AK rifle with magazine and bayonet (SKK-45); one 9mm Carbine with magazine; one 9mm Pistol with magazine; one Pt 22 Pistol with magazine; one Pt 22 Pistol with magazine; one Pt 22 Revolver with magazine; nine SBBL Rif and huge quality of assorted ammunition, besides other warlike stores, the release informed.
“The recovered arms and ammunition was handed over to Chümoukedima Police Station for further investigation,” it added.
