Wokha, March 28 (MExN): On the eve of Easter Sunday on March 26, 28 Assam Rifles led by Commandant Col Litton Dhar visited the “Children Home” being run by Evung Ezung in Wokha Town. A press release from Assam Rifles informed that the 28 Assam Rifles team interacted with the children, for whom lunch was also organised.
The programme was also attended by Mhonchumi Humtsoe and Mhabeni Shitiri, President and General Secretary respectively of Lotha Eloe Hoho along with Zuben, PRO, Wokha District. On behalf of 28 Assam Rifles, the General Secretary and President of Lotha Eloe Hoho distributed gifts to all the children of the home.
Meanwhile, the Commandant of 28 Assam Rifles applauded Evung Ezung for his “exceptional and unparalleled contribution” to the society, the release said. He also promised that 28 Assam Rifles under 5 Sect AR and IGAR(N) would be a part of such a noble cause in the true spirit of “Friends of the North East People”.
