Assault charge against guards in Ganeshnagar again

Some returnees were assaulted allegedly by drunk police guards in Ganeshnagar Quarantine Centre on June 28.


A video and audio clip, circulated on WhatsApp late on Sunday, had agitated returnees accosting police guards for the alleged assault “without any reason.”  The returnees claimed that the guards were drunk.


As per reports, the returnees were sitting outside playing mobile games when the guards started beating them. 


The President of the Naga Students'Union, Delhi,told The Morung Express that he was informed about the incident and tried to intervene over the phone but the police guards refused to talk.


Incharge of the facility, DIG (Training), Aotemsu, when contacted said, “everything is under control,” and the incident report will be received on June 29.
