Three bills were passed today in the state assembly. The bills include the Nagaland Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (Amendment) Bill 2009, Nagaland Government Servants (Transfer & Posting) Bill 2009 and Nagaland Village Councils (Fourth Amendment) Bill, 2009. Earlier, on being asked by MLA I Imkong as to how the amount of Rs. 50 lakhs as financial assistance to tribal councils is going to be utilized under Nagaland Village Councils (Fourth Amendment) Bill, 2009, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio replied that it will be distributed as per the population and size of the tribe and requirement. He said financial assistance to tribal councils has been necessitated to enable them to organize.
