Assembly Secretariat strives to make itself model working place

Kohima, November 15 (MExN): Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) has informed the general public that the NLA Complex is a security zone and a restricted area and called upon all concerned to support the endeavor of the Assembly Secretariat to keep it clean by not loitering, littering in the premises, according to a press release from N. Benjamin Newmai, Commissioner and Secretary, NLA Secretariat.  

The release said that in order to make the Assembly Secretariat congenial, several measures are being taken to keep it clean, beautiful and healthy under the leadership of NLA Speaker, Chotisuh Sazo. Towards this end, a water fountain, a brainchild of the Speaker, was commissioned on November 15 evening. Besides beautification activities such as renovation, painting of the Secretariat, Assembly Hall and the legislator's home, the Assembly Secretariat has taken up several measures to mordernise and upgrade the working equipments by making the Assembly paperless through a project called E-Vidhan.  

The Secretariat submitted a proposal to the Union Minister for Information Technology regarding the project and computerizing process is already on to support the expected E-Vidhan, the release said.  

The Assembly Secretariat is also trying to construct ramp to the Assembly Hall for senior citizens and differently abled persons, library hall, and recreation facilities for the Members.  

Expecting that the scheme of things will be favourably funded, it hoped to make the place a “model of the most beautiful and desirable working place.”
